Grasswood Park (GP) Catering, a full-service catering company in Saskatoon, SK, approached 306 Technologies for a website redesign. The previous website of GP Catering was outdated, lacked mobile responsiveness, and was built on decade-old technologies. Our goal was to refresh the GP Catering brand with vibrant new colors, a user-friendly website, and an easy-to-manage backend system for the team.
Food is something that connects us all. Some of life's most cherished memories are created around the dinner table, sharing laughter, love, and joy with those who matter most. With the GP Catering website, we set out to create a feeling of warmth, love, and coziness—just like the comfort of a bowl of warm soup on a chilly, rainy day. The responsibility of catering for a life milestone is paramount. A well-catered event can make or break someone’s special day. Therefore, building trust and professionalism through branding was also a key focus.
With the design and interface of the website, creating a clean, classy, and easy-to-navigate experience was essential. Our goal was to ensure users could navigate to any part of the website within three clicks or less. The "Request a Quote" form is a key feature of the site, enabling users to explore catering menus, select meals, and receive a detailed, personalized quote for their event. Overall, the website loads in the blink of an eye, making it effortless and seamless for users to take action.
Providing full content control to the GP Catering team was essential, as their menus change with each season, requiring timely updates to keep the website information accurate and fresh. We integrated Sanity CMS and Next.js draft mode to deliver an effortless visual editing experience that's second to none. The GP Catering team can effortlessly click on any piece of content on the website to make real-time edits. This empowers the GP Catering team to keep their website dynamic and up-to-date, ensuring it always reflects their latest offerings with ease.
With multiple team members and overlapping catering events happening daily, having a comprehensive calendar to track all scheduled events efficiently was essential. Before the new website, the GP Catering staff had to manually enter all bookings, a process that was both time-consuming and prone to errors. The addition of a comprehensive calendar allows GP Catering to manage catering requests submitted through the website and update events in real time.
